Crepe Fabric

Crepe Fabric is a material with a unique three-dimensional wrinkled texture. Originally made from silk, today it can be created from various textiles such as cotton, chiffon, viscose, etc.

Advantages of crepe fabric:

  • Has a beautiful drape;
  • Very breezy and breathable;
  • Great for wicking moisture.

Disadvantages of crepe fabric:

  • Doesn’t retain heat very well;
  • Very fragile fabric;
  • Difficult to care for.

Crepe is commonly used for garments that have flowy drapes: dresses, skirts, trousers, blouses, scarves, hats, etc. Also for home decor items such as curtains, bedspreads and decorative pillows.
