Jute Fabric is a natural material that is made from the bark of the jute plant. Raw jute is also known as burlap or hessian.
Advantages of jute fabric:
- Absorbs water readily;
- Dries quickly;
- High resistance to abrasion and stains;
- High breathability;
- Biodegrades relatively quickly.
Disadvantages of jute fabric:
- Not very suitable for making clothes.
Jute fabric is quite versatile and is most often used to make homewares and household items: shopping bags, bags, curtains, and handmade fabric.
