Serger or Overlock Machine

A Serger (also called an Overlock Sewing Machine) is a type of Sewing Machine that uses overlock stitch. This is a special kind of stitch that is sewn over the edges of fabric for edging, hemming, or seaming two pieces together.

Serger operate at high speeds, from 1000 stitches per minute, and that sews the seams of cloth by cutting and tucking the edges of the fabric as they go through at the same time. And It uses loopers fed by multiple cones of thread instead of a bobbin and a single needle.

By the way, in most of the world the more popular term is “Overlocker”, while in the United States it has been replaced by “Serger”.
